You know that feeling you get when you’re really tired and cold and you’ve had a long day and you think of your bed and feel a very comforting pull towards it because it’s the ultimate and best place in the world? It’s replacing that place with your love’s arms. It’s feeling happier and calmer than you’ve ever been before when your eyes make contact with theirs. It’s finding their voice to be the most beautiful sound in the world and knowing that the world lights up when they smile. It’s feeling at home wherever they are and realizing that despite it all, there are more important things in life than all the material goals you’ve set yourself. It’s wanting to travel across a continent because they’ve told you they have a headache even if it does no good and wanting to take care of them however you can. It’s forgetting to be selfish after spending years teaching yourself that it’s okay to be. It’s feeling secure as you do things for yourself and they do things for themselves. It’s wanting them to be the first person you tell things to and delighting in it when they tell you about their day. It’s a million little things that differ for everybody and every relationship, but it’s the million little things that make every moment you spend with your love feel like the world is all the better for having them in it.
